The Mayfield Vineyard 2021 Chardonnay is made with grapes harvested from their highest elevation, cool climate Chardonnay blocks. Grapes were picked at night to retain freshness and pressed straight away and stored for 7 months in oak.
This all makes for a modern Australian Chardonnay with complex but integrated French oak lurking in the background. Finely structured with fresh acidity and precise dark citrus flavours rather than the big tropical, buttery style.

About Mayfield Vineyard: Mayfield Vineyard has a long and rich history of traditional owners, the local Wiradjuri people. In 1831, the property was gifted to William Charles Wentworth by the Governor of NSW. In the centuries since, the property has been used for grazing cattle and sheep, breeding horses and educating the children of Scottish farm workers. In 1998, the Thomas family planted vines, making it the “Mayfield Vineyard” it is today.
Mayfield Vineyard is now under the stewardship of the Eastham Family and their chief winemaker Charles Simons, with a shared goal for creating the highest quality wines, driven by a passion for sustainability and innovative grape growing practices.
Mayfield Vineyard offers visitors a unique experience to stay, taste and explore. At the beautiful School House Cellar Door visitors can taste award winning wines while overlooking the lake and vines. They also offer private 'Explorers Wine Tastings' on site while meandering through the vineyard, tasting the wines amongst the vines that produced them.
